Frugal Gifts

Giving gifts is something I enjoy. I used to think that I had to spend a lot of money in order to give a proper gift. Thankfully, I have discovered that is not the truth. Yes, you could purchase a cheap gift, and some of those will obviously look cheap, but they do not have to – you need to make wise purchases and plan ahead.

Gift Ideas:

* cookies, bread, muffins arranged on a platter or plate

* items you have canned, such as preserves, jam, jelly, or fruit – tie a bow or ribbon with a tag labeling the contents

* themed gift basket (chocolate, coffee, tea, pasta)

* candles

* household decor

* bath and body items

A few ways to save on the latter three suggestions:
1) purchase clearance items
2) wait until after a holiday when items are significantly reduced (I’ve purchase candles after Christmas that do not look Christmas-y and have used them as gifts)
3) garage sales or thrift stores
4) stock up from sales – sometimes Bath & Body Works has great sales, I purchase several soaps to have on hand

What suggestions do you have for making gifts or finding good deals on gift items?

    Hi to everyone,

    I believe that something you can actually wear, like a watch or something you use everyday and always carry with you like a cell phone, perfume, a office table clock, an Ipod, a handbag, or a digital camera, is the most personal way to be remembered by the one you want to offer something to.

    Every time that person will look at herself in the mirror or will use that something you have given her, she will think of you with gratitude and appreciation !

    Summer sales are on on many web sites.

    I have found an online department store called http://www.littlegiftideas.com. They have a variety of branded items including perfumes, watches, designers’ sunglasses, digital cameras, cell phones and hundreds of other great gifts starting at 3$ up to 5000$.

    All items are sold at DEEP discounts if compared to the suggested retail prices.

    If you dig a bit you will even find some that go for 80% off the usual retail price.

    At the moment they have a summer sale on and they offer an additional 10% OFF their usual prices on most products.

    I believe it is worth a visit since they have plenty of great opportunities for you to offer branded items in big demand at very affordable prices.

    Great Ideas. I will have to remember this. I to would try to get gifts for everyone and it would get expensive. But now I usually shop for kids birthday gifts at the dollar tree or ollies. It’s Cheap, but doesn’t always look cheap. They are really coming out with a lot of new things. Garage sales are good. I think If I got into bath and body works and and stocked up on their soaps, I might just end up keeping them for us. I love them!
