Check Your Receipt

I don’t understand why, but it seems that so often when I am purchasing things, whether at the grocery store or a clothing store, items ring up incorrectly. Whenever possible, I try to watch everything as it is scanned to make sure it’s coming up at the correct price. This is not always feasible, especially with a small child. If you are not able to watch everything as it is scanned, check your receipt before you head out to the car. This way, is there is a problem, you can just go to the customer service desk for an adjustment.

Ask about the policy of the store – some stores will give you the item free if it rings up incorrectly.

Some stores also have a URL at the bottom of the receipt that asks you to take a survey about your shopping experience. I have gotten 15% off your entire purchase coupons from The Children’s Place and JCPenney by taking a survey specified on my receipt.

So when you are shopping, try to check the prices whenever you are putting something into your cart, that way you will hopefully remember what the price is supposed to be. And always check your receipt, it can definitely help you save money.
