Booking Through Thursday – Windfall

Yesterday, April 15th, was Tax Day here in the U.S., which means lots of lucky people will get refunds of over-paid taxes.

Whether you’re one of them or not, what would you spend an unexpected windfall on? Say … $50? How about $500?

(And, this is a reading meme, so by rights the answer should be book-related, but hey, feel free to go wild and splurge on anything you like.)

If this actually happened, having $50 dropped into my lap, I would put it into savings. If it was $500, I would also put it into savings.

But, if I wasn’t allowed to put the money into savings, I would probably buy some books. If I was given more than $500 (I know this is not part of the question, so I guess this is just wishful thinking…), I would remodel our dining room and turn it into a library/office. This is very unlikely, since I have mentioned this to my husband and he is not at all in favor of this change. Plus, it would be costly, and I am too frugal to make a change in our house that is totally unnecessary – but it would be fabulous if it was possible. 🙂

a library/reading room/office would be so awesome!!! I would love to do this with part of our basement that has a big brick fireplace taking up a whole wall (couldn’t you just imagine sitting in a big brown leather chair in front of a fireplace!?!?) but it’s not really in the cards for us either. Ah well…maybe someday when we win the lottery 🙂
